Dawkins Welcome Center
The first step on your journey to Hendrix, the Dawkins Welcome Center, is home to the College’s Admission and Financial Aid staff. The LEED-certified facility features all-LED lighting (including lights that radiate Hendrix orange from the cupola at night), connection to an energy-efficient district cooling loop providing climate control to multiple buildings on campus, and as many materials as possible sourced from within 500 miles of the construction site.
Student Life and Technology Center
The Student Life and Technology Center (SLTC) has everything from the dining hall and the Dean’s office to resources for internships and international programs to student activities and student life in one location, providing seamless service and helping students succeed. It’s where Hendrix students go to share ideas, study and socialize, meet and eat, and make plans for the future.
Wellness and Athletics Center
The Wellness and Athletics Center (WAC) keeps the Hendrix community healthy. The WAC features a competition gym for Warrior basketball and volleyball; a recreation gym; an indoor track; a studio for Zumba, kickboxing, spin cycling, yoga, and other exercise classes; a fitness center; and an aquatics center.
The Village at Hendrix
The Village at Hendrix is a dynamic community next to campus with homes featuring classic architecture and green building, a park and trails, a market center with green space for outdoor events, and mixed-use buildings for businesses and restaurants on the lower floors with student living space on top.
Bailey Library
The Olin C. Bailey Library contains more than 200,000 books for students, faculty, and the community. Adjacent to the library is the Snoddy Academic Resource Center, which houses a 24/7 computer lab, study carrels, the Writing Center, and a seminar room. The second floor includes the Learning Commons for students to access peer tutoring services, as well as the Arkansas United Methodist Archives and the Hendrix College Archives.
Greene Chapel
Greene Chapel hosts weekly and special worship services, weddings, and the Hendrix Choir’s Candlelight Carol Service. Greene Chapel ranked #5 on a theologydegrees.com list of the 50 Most Amazing College Chapels and Churches.
Staples Auditorium
Adjacent to Greene Chapel, Staples Auditorium hosts student life activities, arts and entertainment performances by Hendrix student ensembles and guests, and special convocations.
Cabe Theatre
The 242-seat Cabe Theatre is the home of the Hendrix Theatre Arts and Dance Department and hosts a variety of theatre and dance performances by student ensembles and guest artists. One of the region’s premier performing arts centers, Cabe features a thrust stage with a pneumatic turntable—the only revolving stage in the state—and a modern lighting and sound system.
Bertie Wilson Murphy Building
Bertie Wilson Murphy Building, affectionately known as the “Murphy House,” is the home of the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation Programs in Literature and Language, which hosts visiting scholars, writers, and speakers for literary readings and workshops. Students study next to the fireplace in the first floor library, and the seminar room hosts receptions, film screenings, luncheons and dinners, poetry readings, and workshops.
Miller Creative Quad
The Miller Creative Quad is a multi-use building that includes two co-educational residence halls: Arkansas Hall (north) and Conway Corporation Hall (south), which are connected by second- and third-floor common areas. It can house 106 students in 74 double-occupancy and 32 single-occupancy rooms. The structure also houses the Windgate Museum of Art, an 8,000 square-foot, environmentally controlled space that includes three exhibition galleries for presenting art exhibitions, educational programs, and social activities for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus and the Hundley-Shell Theater for film screenings and lectures.

Conway
Hendrix is the north anchor of historic downtown Conway. The business and entertainment district blends small Southern town atmosphere with shopping, eating, and entertainment options from the farmer’s market and food trucks to Toad Suck Daze, a local music, art, and food festival that attracts more than 150,000 visitors each spring.
Central Arkansas
Conway’s next-door neighbor is Little Rock, the state capital, just 30 miles south. Almost exactly in the geographical center of Arkansas and the United States, Little Rock is the state’s cultural center and home to the Arkansas Arts Center, Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Clinton Presidential Library. Little Rock offers everything from live music and local restaurants in the River Market District to Riverfest, Arkansas’ largest music, arts, and food festival.
The Natural State
Outdoor adventures abound around Conway. Cadron Settlement Park along the Arkansas River is a quick trip (just a few miles northwest) from campus. Beaverfork Lake and Lake Conway are nearby too. Go a little bit further and hike Cedar Falls and other trails at Petit Jean Mountain State Park about 45 minutes northwest or head south and climb Pinnacle Mountain or ride along the Arkansas River Trail and cross the Big Dam Bridge.
