Non-Hendrix Scholarships
Hendrix College is a Collegiate Partner of Scholarship America and the Dollars for Scholars (United Methodist Higher Education Foundation) family of community scholarship foundations. Hendrix has agreed that Dollars for Scholars awards of up to $1,000 per student will not adversely affect scholarship funding provided by Hendrix.
We encourage students to apply for outside scholarships from community organizations, employers, civic groups, foundations, and other reputable sources. Even small scholarships can add up and help reduce educational expenses and borrowing.
While many legitimate scholarship opportunities exist, students should also be aware of scholarship scams. As you search and apply, stay aware. Never pay a fee to apply for, search for, or receive a scholarship. Avoid providing sensitive personal information such as bank account numbers, credit card information, or your social security number.
To let us know about your outside awards, please send proof of award (congratulatory notification) and amount to the Office of Financial Aid via email at student_aid@hendrix.edu or our secure upload site hendrix.edu/faupload. Once we receive this information we will include the amount of the scholarship in your financial aid award package. Outside scholarships can be stacked on top of your Hendrix Achievement-Based Scholarships until cost of attendance is reached.
Any admitted El Dorado High School student who qualifies for the El Dorado Promise is eligible to compete for the Murphy Foundation Scholarship Award at Hendrix College. This competitive scholarship will cover:

Three students will be selected through a competitive process to receive this last-dollar scholarship, which is applied after the El Dorado Promise, state aid, and federal Pell Grant funds. This scholarship will replace any previously awarded Hendrix merit-based aid.
