Program Overview & Goals
The Asian Studies minor at Hendrix College provides students with an interdisciplinary understanding of the histories, cultures, religions, languages, and societies of Asia. Through coursework in the humanities and social sciences, students examine diverse cultural traditions and contemporary issues while developing a deeper appreciation for the complexity and global significance of Asian societies. The program encourages critical reflection on cross-cultural exchange, identity, religion, literature, media, and historical change, and it promotes engagement with Asia through language study, immersive learning, and study abroad opportunities.
