Welcome, Warriors!

The countdown to Move-In Day is in full swing, and we can hardly wait to welcome you to campus! On August 18, 2026, new students from around the nation—and beyond—will converge at Hendrix, and we want you to know what to expect.

Please note that students who have not made payment in full or set up a payment plan by August 1 cannot move into their residence hall.  Those students will need to visit Dawkins Welcome Center upon arrival to campus.

Tuesday, August 18, 2026 – Move In Day

8:00 am – 1:00 pm – *Residence Hall Move In
Various Residence Hall Locations
Head over to your residence hall and get moved in! The Orientation team will be eagerly waiting to help you move your things into your new home!

8:00 am – 1:00 pm – *Hendrix One-Stop Shop
Student Life and Technology Center (SLTC)
New students and families, please stop by and register for Orientation by 1 pm. Students will receive a Hendrix Orientation t-shirt, name tag, and program schedule. Students and families will also visit various departments and make connections moving through the One Stop Shop!

8:30 am – 3:00 pm – Hendrix Spirit Store Open

Stop by the Campus Spirit Store to take the opportunity to purchase Hendrix swag! Go Warriors!

9:00 am – 2:00 pm – Post Office Open

Stop by the post office to learn the ins and outs of campus mail service to include, for example, registering your phone number to receive package alerts. And if you registered a vehicle through the Hendrix website, it’s highly likely you will have mail; your parking sticker!

11:00 am – 1:30 pm – Lunch
SLTC Cafeteria (Second Floor)
Enjoy a wide variety of menu options prepared by the very friendly and welcoming Dining Services family.  

1:30 pm – 4:00 pm – Family Farewell/Free Time
New students say goodbye to families as they depart from campus and then head to the Brick Pit to meet with your Orientation group.

4:15 – 4:45 pm – *Class of 2030 Welcome and Class Picture (New Students Only)

Students will participate in a ceremonial class photo. Then students will walk as a group to the WAC for Engagement Session.

4:45 pm – 5:30 pm – *Student Orientation Group Session (New Students Only)

Students will meet their Orientation groups and prepare for a week of fun! Orientation group leaders will have signs to help you find them! Check your name tag for your group number! 

5:30 pm – 7:00 pm – OR Group Dinner

After meeting your Orientation group and leaders, head to the Cafeteria to enjoy dinner as a group! See your Peer Leader for more information. 

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm – Warrior Welcome

Meet your classmates in a series of fun activities. We have something for everyone. Get out of your comfort zone and meet some new people! 

9:30 pm – 10:30 pm – *Residence Hall Meeting

If you are living on campus, it’s time to head home to meet those in your neighborhood!

Directions to Campus

From Interstate 40
From I-40, take Exit 125 and turn onto US 65-B/Harkrider St. Stay on US 65-B/Harkrider St. for about half a mile. Travel past The Village at Hendrix on your left.

North Side campus residents (Raney, Veasey, Galloway): Upon entering the first roundabout, take an immediate right onto Winfield St. This will lead you to the North Side parking lots.

South Side campus residents (Martin, Hardin, Couch, Miller Creative Quad): Travel through the first roundabout (exiting to remain on US 65-B/Harkrider St.) and underneath a pedestrian bridge. Upon entering the second roundabout, take an immediate right onto Markham St. This will take you to the South Side parking lots.

First Thing

Upon your arrival at Hendrix, the first thing you’ll do is go to your residence hall to pick up the keys to your new home away from home. WARNING: When you pull up in front of your res hall, your car will be swarmed by upper-class students waiting to move your boxes up to your room (so write your room number on your belongings).

Check In at the SLTC

In a few minutes, your boxes will be in your room, but you’ve only just started! Now it’s time to head over to the Student Life and Technology Center (SLTC) for Orientation Check-In!  You’ll receive your Orientation schedule and t-shirt, pose for a move-in day photos, visit the Hendrix College Spirit Store, and meet even more great people.
