Applying as an International Student
International students at Hendrix join a vast network of learners whose ideas, interests, and experiences span the world. Small class sizes foster dynamic, engaging discussion where students and faculty actively exchange ideas and perspectives in an open and supportive environment. You’ll join a vibrant academic community of approximately 1,000 students representing more than 95 countries.
Admission decisions are based upon academic ability and preparation, dedication to learning, and motivation to participate fully in the Hendrix community.
How to Apply
- Complete the Hendrix application or the Common App.
- Submit an essay in English (instructions provided in the application).
- Submit official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary academic work translated into English. Transcripts must include the school seal and be signed by the appropriate school official. Documents may be uploaded via the Common Application or sent directly from the school in a sealed envelope.
- Non-native English speakers must submit an official score report for one or more of the following tests:
- TOEFL iBT (minimum score: 94)
- IELTS (minimum score: 7.0)
- SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 730+) or ACT (English 32+)
- Duolingo English Test (minimum score: 115)
- Submit a CSS Profile from the College Board. If you cannot complete the CSS, please email Senior Assistant Director of Admission Whitney Lewis (lewisw@hendrix.edu) to request the International Student Application for Financial Assistance .
- Hendrix College practices a need sensitive admission policy for international students. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to pay at least $35,000 USD per year.This represents the average cost difference from our comprehensive cost of attendance and average international student scholarship offer.

For Spring Enrollment
- October 14: Deadline to submit application and all supplemental materials.
- October 23: Deadline to pay the enrollment fee for those accepted for admission.
- November 9: Final deadline for first-year students to upload or complete documents required for I-20 in their applicant portal.
- November 18: Deadline for F-1 visa students transferring their active status SEVIS records to Hendrix to upload additional documents in their applicant portal.
For Fall Enrollment
- May 12: Deadline to submit application and all supplemental materials.
- May 21: Deadline to pay the enrollment fee for those accepted for admission
- May 31: Priority deadline for first-year students to upload or complete documents required for I-20 in their applicant portal.
- June 15: Final deadline for first-year students to upload documents required for I-20 in their applicant portal.
- July 1: Final deadline for F-1 visa students transferring their active status SEVIS records to Hendrix to upload additional documents in their applicant portal.
